About

Aiwell Water AS

Aiwell Water AS, like Aiwell AS and Aiwell Property AS, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aiwell Holding AS and was established on 07.06.2016. It was clear that the municipality of Drammen wanted to enter into an agreement with us on the construction of the first gravity-controlled pressurized plant using our full-flow tanks.

Little History
Prior to the establishment of Aiwell Water AS, we worked for a long time in Aiwell to test the idea of increasing the capacity of sewers. The concept was obtained from roof drainage systems, where we have been using full flow solutions for more than 50 years. This involves removing all air in the drain by installing an air lock in the roofwell, so that the drain pipe is filled 100% with water and a siphon effect is acheived so the water velocity increases greatly. This increases the capacity and uses far smaller pipe dimensions than traditional solutions.
The aim was to use valves to create vacuum in the pipe (0-1 bar pressure) This increases water velocity further, thereby transporting very large amounts of water through small pipes.
Aiwell Water has gotten an international patent. Aiwell Water takes known technology from roof drainage (full flow) and uses the principle to solve stormwater and increase wastewater capacity

In 2014, students at Høgskolen in Vestfold built and conducted a test of the first prototype of the pressurized gravity system. They brought 2pcs. smaller (12mm) hoses through a 50mm tube to simulate, in a simple way how wastewater and stormwater can be separated in a joint system. In other words, prevent storm water from mixing with the wastewater. This was achieved by controlling solenoid valves with a PLS computer. They did a good job so it became a very successful project.
